Meet Danielle Andisa Johnson
Founder and Chief Calm Officer, The Inner Calm Academy
Danielle Andisa Johnson is the Founder and Chief Calm Officer of The Inner Calm Academy, where she helps people build calm as a grounded, practical skill through breath, presence, and community.
After more than two decades leading high-stakes engineering projects and programs at NASA, including serving as Program Executive for a $2.3 billion space weather satellite mission, Danielle Andisa made a bold decision to devote more of her life to another kind of system: the human nervous system.
She had spent years succeeding in high-pressure environments while also witnessing how many people were quietly carrying stress, overwhelm, and the cost of constant performance. That reality shaped the work she now leads through The Inner Calm Academy.
While helping build complex systems in space, Danielle was also doing the inner work of learning how to slow down, listen inward, and return to herself — and quietly creating space for others to do the same. For more than 14 years, she has studied and facilitated mindfulness, breathwork, and nervous system regulation practices that help people manage stress, strengthen resilience, and sustain performance.
As a Black woman who has navigated demanding professional spaces, Danielle Andisa understands firsthand the invisible weight many high-achievers carry — the pressure to perform, the need to hold it together, and the toll that can take on the body, mind, and spirit. This lived experience is part of what makes her work both practical and deeply human.
Today, Danielle brings together engineering thinking, mindfulness, breathwork, and nervous system regulation through the Engineering Your Calm™ Framework — a grounded approach to helping people release what they have been carrying, rise into greater clarity and capacity, and be more fully present in their lives and leadership.
Training and Credentials
Danielle’s work is supported by years of study, practice, and facilitation across multiple disciplines that support stress regulation, self-awareness, and well-being, including:
• Conscious Connected Breathwork
• Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (Brown University)
• Trauma-informed coaching and tapping practices
• Reiki and energy-based stress regulation methods
• Yoga and mind-body movement facilitation
Her work integrates both modern neuroscience and longstanding mind-body traditions, translated into practical tools that people can actually use in everyday life.
Beyond the Work
A native Houstonian who recently returned home, Danielle Andisa is deeply rooted in community. Beyond her work, she enjoys traveling, studying her family’s genealogy, reading, and continuing her own journey of healing, growth, and wholeness.
